Golden Isles Missions – Southeast Baptist Association, GA
Dates: May 30-August 5
Students: 2 Baptist Students (same gender)
Golden Isles Ministries is the outreach ministry of the Southeast Baptist Association. Golden Isles Ministries exists to identify unreached (or under-reached) portions of the community and to develop on-going ministries and programs to reach these areas. During the spring and summer months we have mission teams come to work through the Association to carry out these ministries and programs so that, as an Association, we can establish a meaningful presence in these unreached areas. We then utilize the programs and ministries of the mission teams by having our Associational Churches come alongside of these ministries to establish year-long programs and ministries.
The primary responsibility of our Students is to work in their designated communities as liaisons for our mission teams. Students will be assigned one to the unreached communities as their work base for the summer and it will become their responsibility to learn the community and to develop relationships with the Children and the Youth so that they can better direct mission teams as they come to work in the community. Students, likewise, will work alongside of mission teams for the duration of the summer—serving as a guide and encourager for the groups. Finally, students will be called upon to lead various aspects of worship and spiritual life during the summer for the mission teams.
