May 25-July 16
2 Christian Students (same gender)
You will help with daily logistics and operations to host three U.S. volunteer teams. We will do door to door evangelism, school ministry, women’s ministry, vbs, prayer-walking, and gospel distribution. You will use your gifts in a variety of ways to engage people that might include teaching English, leading a Bible study, doing sports ministry, hosting a back yard Bible club, or volunteering in a local school. To thrive in this role, you will need to be independent and a self starter, not requiring day to day instructions. A basic understanding of Spanish would be helpful but is not mandatory. Antigua is a tourist town, so there will be ample opportunities for you to share the gospel in both English and Spanish. You will spend your first week in Guatemala doing some Spanish language study at a local Spanish school. We will arrange lodging with a trusted Guatemalan host family. You will have a private room with either a private bath or a shared bath with your teammate. This will give you a great opportunity to learn more language and develop a love for the Guatemalan culture. You will eat many of your meals in their home, so dietary restrictions will be difficult to accommodate. Summer Sojourners will receive orientation (May 25- 29) and debrief (July 13 -16) with other students serving throughout the Americas. Orientation and debrief will be hosted near Memphis, TN.
