Join our team’s soap project to bring dignity and the gospel to Sudanese refugees in Uganda. You will learn to make soap and reproduce this skill in the refugee settlements. Come prepared to take part in our close-knit team, to be discipled, and to make disciples of the nations. There are 1.6 million South Sudanese refugees in Uganda and 75-85% of those refugees are women and children. Sanitation and hygiene are extremely important to provide both dignity and a clean environment that will protect them from deadly disease like cholera and dysentery that become even more dangerous when in a confided environment like the refugee settlements. Your team will be making soap and training refugees in this skill. This skill will be a livelihood for the refugees and their families, which will be a great help for their financial situation. While training soap makers we will also share the gospel and teach them bible stories. You must be prepared for the difficulty of this job as many of these refugees have seen atrocious things and will be learning to cope with what they have experienced. Many of these people have come from unreached places in the region. This is a unique opportunity to reach a high concentration of UUPGs in one place.
