May 15-June 27
4 Christian Students
Students will be working with long-term personnel in a North African city, to reach out to college-aged students from a Muslim background. We have found students in our city especially curious and searching, and we would love to have their peers come and reach out to them, share with them, and walk alongside them as they’re searching. Students will be expected to participate in Arabic classes 8-10 hours a week, as well as spending time in the community each day, meeting and following up with students. The possibility exists for student volunteers to organize gatherings with people they’ve met, for instance playing soccer and having dinner at the beach with people they’ve met that week. Students will also be able to follow up individually with people and might be invited into local homes on occasion. Though student volunteers will be in consistent contact with long-term personnel, this team needs to be independent (willing to take Uber and public transportation with teammates), bold with the Gospel, teachable, and humble to learn from national partners and teachers. Long-term personnel will provide guidance, direction, mentoring, and consistent contact, but a majority of time will be spent out in community as a team and with nationals.
