Mapes Baptist Church, Vanderhoof, British Columbia

Mapes Baptist Church is located 12 hours north of Vancouver in a ranching / farming community with logging, working class, and professional members. In the last 18 months, the church has tripled in size, dramatically increasing the numbers of children and students.

Summer interns are needed to help facilitate weekly summer activities for children and older young people. This will include Bible Studies on Sunday mornings as well as on Wednesdays nights. In addition, it is hoped that discipleship groups for older youth would meet separately throughout the summer. The church partners with a new church plant in Vancouver and plans to help facilitate Kid’s Club with that church sometime in July. The church utilizes Archery Ministry as an outreach tool, so this would be incorporated into the ministry in both locations.

Travel, Housing, Food, and Ministry Expenses are provided by the church. Housing will be in the basement of the pastor’s home. Students will incur no expenses if they serve at Mapes Baptist Church; therefore, a Send Me Now grant will not be needed or provided.
